Bob was born in 1936 and sadly passed away in February 2021 just before the publication of his book co-authored with Michael Billington called Urmston, Flixton and Davyhulne: A Collection of Antiques and Curios.

This is one such book and traces Bob’s childhood memories in the township of Flixton. he talks about his parents and his brother and sister and how they coped through the blitz of 1940. He talks also about his childhood interests, his days at the Rycroft Boys’ Home and Castlemere Boys’ Home, the winter of 1946/7, village life, schooldays and more.
